Week 10 of pregnancy (First Trimester)

You:

An increase in the amount of blood going round your body might mean that at around this time your gums may begin to soften and bleed. Try to avoid snacking on sugary foods and drinks and make sure you brush your teeth regularly. You might also notice that your clothes are a little tighter than last week.

Your baby:

Over the next three weeks your baby will more than double in size. This is the time when the baby will first yawn and will begin swallowing and kicking. All the major organs will now be fully developed and more detailed features will be starting to appear, such as fingernails and very fine hair. The external sex organs are starting to show, which means in a few weeks you will be able to tell the sex of your baby. As you near the end of your first trimester your uterus will be about the size of a grapefruit.
